Kleinberg Electric, Inc. performed all the electrical work for the Central Business District Tolling Program for the MTA in New York City, this project is the first of its kind in the USA.
This was a design build project where Kleinberg’s expertise was utilized to assure an installation that complied with the design documents while facilitating a smooth installation within the contract schedule and allowing for ease of maintenance once the initial installation was complete.
Our work included furnishing and installing approximately 100 custom poles throughout the Central Business District, installation of tolling equipment, and all associated conduit and wire on all 4 East River Bridges including the 59th St Bridge, the Williamsburg Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge as well as existing pedestrian bridges and existing gantries on the FDR Drive and the West Side Highway. Kleinberg also had to install approximately 100 electrical services from Con Edison Manholes to the new tolling equipment and provide infrastructure for Verizon to bring communications to each of the sites.
